Call for Program Advisory Committee Member - QDPE
Overview: The Quality Daily Physical Education (QDPE) Program Advisory Committee (PAC) is a volunteer group that provides advice, guidance, and recommendations to Physical and Health Education (PHE) Canada's Board of Directors on those matters related to physical education programs in the educational system. Advice from the Committee may be sought by the Board of Directors, or the Committee may generate positions for the Board's consideration. Composition The Committee will consist of 5-6 members including a PHE Canada professional staff person as an ex officio member. Committee membership will consist of: 1. A Chair who will serve in that position for two years; 2. A Member-at-Large who will serve in that position for one year, and then assume the position of Chair Elect who will serve in that position for one year – that of the last year of the Chair's term. 3. A Member-at-Large who will serve in that position for two years (1-2 individuals); 4. A Member of the Board of Directors; and 5. A PHE Canada professional staff member (ex officio). Terms & Representation: The QDPE PAC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to fill the position as Member at Large to serve an initial term of two (2) years with the committee. He/She may opt to become the Chair Elect at the end of their 2 year term. This would then extend the total term to five (5) years with the Committee. Two years as Member at Large, One year as Chair Elect, and Two years as Chair. The Committee will strive for balance in the representation of children and youth age ranges (i.e., elementary, secondary, post secondary), geography, gender, and persons with a disability. Time Commitments: The Committee will meet in person or via conference call two to four times per year (subject to funding).
