Why become a member of PHE Canada?

As the national voice for the physical and health education profession for more than 75 years, PHE Canada has developed a proven track record of advocating for physical and health education, developing leading edge programs and resources and creating a network of affiliated provincial/territorial organizations that help to keep PHE Canada members up-to-date on professional issues, opportunities and experiences across the country.

We provide our members with a variety of avenues for professional development and networking including:

An annual national conference and workshops;

Publications, resources, and teaching tools;

Up-to-date information on issues affecting our field;

Access to experts and mentors from across Canada.

As a member, you're part of the team

Members of PHE Canada determine the direction and activities of the organization. Members have voting privileges, and may serve on committees or hold office. PHE Canada provides you with a national forum and avenue to speak out on issues that affect you and your profession.

PHE Canada’s membership categories and benefits have recently been redeveloped

We now offer two levels of membership, along with a special student rate to encourage future professionals to become involved. You can also elect to become a member of the Council of University Professors and Researchers (CUPR)

ENHANCED PROFESSIONAL - $80 / ENHANCED STUDENT MEMBERSHIP - $50*

This membership is designed for individuals who wish to have access to the widest range of programs and services possible, as well as benefit from resource discounts at our online resource centre (www.excelway.ca). Enhanced Professional/Student members also receive a free subscription to the PHE Journal – a value of the cost of membership itself!

Enhanced Professional/Enhanced Student members also have the right to hold office, nominate individuals for awards, and have access to all archived monthly activities, articles, and lesson plans. To view all enhanced professional/enhanced student membership privileges, please CLICK HERE.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP - FREE!

This membership is FREE to all individuals wishing to be connected to PHE Canada. Professional members will have access to ongoing news updates and have access to basic professional services. Professional PHE Canada members also have access to the member’s portal (although some sections will only be accessible to enhanced members) and will be given the opportunity to be the first to receive updates on programs and promotions. COUNCIL OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS AND RESEARCHERS (CUPR) - $40

A CUPR Membership will put you in touch with university-level teachers, researchers and graduate students from across Canada who share a common interest in Physical and Health Education where you can share current research, and establish and nurture professional networks. In addition to supporting the above activities, paid members of CUPR will benefit from opportunities to serve as editors, section editors and reviewers for the PHENex/phenEPS journal – a significant addition to their Curriculum Vitae.
